Cool Idea Bigman, I will be doing something very similar, with a modified, console shifter lever from a 70 4 speed E-Body lever & Pistol Grip Handle, in my A727 equipped 68RR with manual VB on a B&M Quicksilver Ratchet Shifter {SFI appr.}, instead of the stock style Mopar linkages, in the very near future.

The new Summit book shows hurst pistol grip shifters in pretty much what ever you want, including the 71 - 74 B body non console. Seems to be a good price too for $ 168.

The Hurst that Jason at Gunslinger adapts to fit the 6-speed is SPOT-ON true to the original feel if you use the shorter mounting position. I prefer the Carbon Fiber grips because it really fits the new Challenger.
