i think the rear bumper on a 1970 SS is the most unique bumper Chevrolet ever did with that distinctive SS rubber pad insert. if you buy a 1970 SS leave it that way,but if its a Malibu i agree with the 1971 + 1972 bumper being much nicer. the 1970 bumper without the SS rubber pad is just butt ugly.
